VP Round Table Meeting - Final meeting of StratP China in Suzhou
On November 7, 2018, Prof. Dr. Ing. Thomas Hirth, Vice President for Innovation and International Affairs of KIT, met with the representatives of the four strategic partner universities at the KIT China Branch in Suzhou. They took a look back at the activities of StratP China together from 2015 to 2018 and celebrated the existence of strategic partnerships. In recent years, not only has it been possible to deepen partnerships, but also to massively expand the thematic areas of cooperation between KIT and its partner universities. Prof. Hirth thanked the partners for their great support and cooperation. The four partner universities regard KIT as a very important partner from Europe and would like to further strengthen its strategic partnerships, for example in the areas of "smart city", "environmental technology" or "technology transfer". The partners assured that they will apply for research funding together with KIT even after the project ends.
China is playing an increasingly important role for KIT. In the next few years, the Chinese activities will be synchronized at KIT. Currently, KIT has two other China-related projects besides StratP China, namely CuLTURE China, funded by the BMBF, and the establishment of an Environmental Competence Center in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province.
