Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI)

Founded in 2008, the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI) conducts on-site research into the requirements of the Chinese market and global production structures in order to develop new, robust production networks for industrial companies.

Based in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), GAMI conducts research into global production structures in order to develop new, robust production networks for industrial companies and offers a broad portfolio of research and industrial projects as well as training programmes that deal with classic topics such as sourcing and localization, supplier development or quality management, but also focus on current developments such as Industry 4.0 or Artificial Intelligence.


Industry 4.0 Demonstration and Innovation Center (since 2015)
Together with partners from science and industry, the center works on projects that address the challenges of digital change in Germany and China. To date, this has resulted in over 130 active cooperation projects with more than 40 Chinese partners.


Innovation factory for artificial intelligence (since 2018)
The Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI) in Suzhou is an important element of KIT's innovation and cooperation strategy in China and deals with topics such as Industry 4.0 and big data analysis.


KIT China Branch
Since 2014, GAMI has also functioned as the KIT China Branch to support KIT scientists in accessing research partners and projects as well as third-party funding in China.


KIT Innovation Days
The regular KIT Innovation Days offer a match-making platform for KIT and industry with 60 - 100 representatives from business, science and politics.
