80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Strasbourg
On November 23, 2024, a solemn commemoration took place in Strasbourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the city's liberation by Allied troops. The event concluded a memorial journey that began in April on the Plateau des Glières and passed through various historical sites.
The ceremony, held at the Palais universitaire of the University of Strasbourg and attended by over 400 guests, highlighted Franco-German friendship and was accompanied by President Emmanuel Macron.
Students from the Eucor universities in Karlsruhe and Freiburg participated in the celebrations alongside young people from France. In addition to musical performances and project presentations, the event provided an opportunity for intercultural exchange.
In the afternoon, participants visited the Tomi Ungerer Museum or the Alsatian Museum before the student groups from Karlsruhe and Freiburg returned home.
