Cooperation in Transition – Opportunities and Risks of International Collaboration
Discussion
Foyer des Präsidiumsgebäude (Geb.11.30)
Higher education collaborations promote the exchange of knowledge, build cultural bridges and strengthen the global connectivity of research and teaching. But how can strategic partnerships be identified? What factors play a role? How do we develop alliances with countries where academic freedoms and other democratic values are under threat? And how can existing, trust-based partnerships be expanded, especially at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions?
At the panel discussion “Cooperation in Transition – Opportunities and Risks of International Collaboration" with subsequent audience participation, we would like to discuss with you the challenges and success models of international higher education cooperation
On the podium:
Tanja Popović, Head of International Office, Head of Welcome & Euraxess Center, University of Basel Dr. Pradeep Ghosh, Head of International Cooperation & Programme Manager at FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research in Europe GmbH), Darmstadt Lea Ziri, Director of International, European and Cross-Borders Affairs at Upper-Alsace University, Mulhouse Dr. Klaus Rümmele, Head of International Affairs Business Unit (INTL), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
Moderator: Prof. Dr. Caroline Y. Robertson-von Trotha
The event will be held in English. Registration is not required.

Vincenz-Prießnitz-Str. 1, …
Everyone, no matter their individual background, holds unconscious beliefs. These primarily serve as a filter and categorization to the magnitude of information we receive every moment. Consequently, we use mental shortcuts to complete missing information about the world around us, also about our colleagues, superiors or employees. Within the workshop we will explore how these cognitive distortions affect our actions and what possibilities there are to overcome unconscious biases and improve our daily interactions.
