Information for your visit
- You can visit the North Campus (formerly Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe) from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
- Unless otherwise arranged, your tour starts at the Center for Technology and Environment (FTU), the building on the left, before entering the main entrance.
- Your tour program will start with a presentation of the main activities of Campus North. This is followed by a walk with examples of research work - the tour covers an area of two km² - and is rounded off with a visit to several scientific and technical facilities.
- For group visits, please give us at least 3 weeks' notice. We would also be pleased if you could give us an alternative date for your visit.
- Groups of twenty people are ideal for visiting our research facilities. If you are a larger group, we can divide the group into smaller groups.
- You will need a valid identity card or passport to visit the North Campus.

Foreign research and higher education institutions as well as international companies interested in visiting KIT can contact the LINK by email International Affairs Visitor Services.
On request, KIT offers all visiting delegations a guided tour of the major research facilities at the North Campus Karlsruhe.
This tour can be customized to your needs and interests.
We can organize for you:
- Guided tours of specific research projects and facilities;
- Meetings with researchers and other potential partners at KIT to establish initial contact;
- Presentations and lectures on specific topics related to research, teaching, innovation and organization.
We recommend a visit of at least four hours to get an overview of KIT and its activities. The Visitor Support Team can also arrange catering for you in a KIT canteen on request.
