Visit from Brazil: Vocational education in focus
At the end of February, a twelve-member delegation from Brazil visited KIT. The focus was on "Vocational Education 4.0" - the influence of Industry 4.0 on vocational training.
Representatives of training institutions in Brazil learned about the vocational training at KIT during a guided tour through the automation center. They also looked around in the learning factory of the wbk Institute for Production Technology. In a lecture, Professor Dr. Gerd Gidion explained the change of German vocational education. Gidion is Professor of Technical Didactics at the Institute for Vocational Education and General Education and Head of the Center for Medial Learning (ZML) at KIT.
The delegation's visit was initiated by foreign chambers of commerce and specialists from the Center for International Migration and Development (CIM) in Brazil, appointed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
