Grand Est Region visiting KIT
In mid-March, Lilla Mérabet visited KIT. The Vice-President for Competitiveness, Digital and Sector of Excellence of the Grand Est Region came to Karlsruhe with representatives of the region and EDF Grand Est. An important aspect of the exchange was the intensification of German-French cooperation between science and industry in the field of renewable energies and Industry 4.0.
Professor Thomas Hirth, Vice President for Innovation and International Affairs, presented the international activities of KIT. Subsequently, two out of four research areas (Production Systems and Virtual and Augmented Reality) of the "Institut franco-allemand pour l'Industrie du Futur" were presented by Arts et Métiers ParisTech and KIT. In the afternoon, the French delegation visited the Bioliq Pilot Plant, where they met with Professor Jörg Sauer of the Institute for Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT). The second stop was the Smart Energy System Simulation and Control Center of the Energy Lab 2.0, where the French guests spoke with Professor Dr. Veit Hagenmeyer from the Institute for Automation and Applied Computer Science (IAI).
