On Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 6.30 p.m., the KFG University Club will take place at the Gastdozentenhaus (Campus South, bldg. 01.52). Highly competent speakers (Professor Dr. Eric Sax, ITIV; Axel Gern, CEO Torc EU GmbH) will present the topic "Autonomous driving - magic or sensoric?". Afterwards will be plenty of time for discussions. In addition, KA-RaceIng will show their latest electric racing car.

Elaborating on the topic “Rational Design of Materials for Energy Production and a Cleaner Future”, Dr. M. Veronica Ganduglia-Pirovano will be the next speaker of the KIT International Excellence Talks. The event will be held as an attendance event and virtually per Zoom on Wednesday, 23 November 2022 at 3:00 PM (CEST). Registration is required for the offline event. Eucor at KIT organises a communication training in cooperation with the Foundation Centre Culturel Franco-Allemand Karlsruhe. The course adresses all KIT employees who would like to improve their French skills. Starting date: November 10. The course will take place on 6 dates of 90 minutes each, prerequisite: language level A2-B1.

Application deadline: november 6th.

2022, the online study information day of the TU9 Alliance, the TU9 Sneak Peek, will take place again on September 19 and 20 from 1 pm - 6.15 pm, respectively. KIT will be represented with "KIT2GO - first-hand information" - get to know KIT, some of its more than 22,000 students, and Karlsruhe in thirty minutes! KIT2GO makes it possible!

You can choose from a wide range of courses in the field of Language & Culture, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Language Training for Mobility, and programmes related to environmental issues, sustainable development and European identities.  A new application period is open from August 24 until September 18, 2022.

On July 28 and 29, delegates of KIT and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki met for a workshop on the further development of their strategic partnership and exchanged ideas for potential collaboration. During the visit of Rector Nikos Papaioannous, AUTh and KIT signed a Memorandum of Understanding to intensify collaboration.  

In order to nonetheless promote more activities between experts and students in Germany and China, the TRENT summer school takes place in July 18-22, 2022 and addresses different elements of the entire lake ecological system, from sedimentary, surface water, ecotoxicology, as well as water policies in both countries.

Elaborating on the topic “Multidisciplinary Design and Analysis of Multifunctional Lightweight Systems”, Prof. Dr. Kamran Behdinan will be the next speaker of the KIT International Excellence Talks. The delegation of the Université Grenoble Alpes represented by Professor Karine Samuel, Vice President Outreach and International Relations, Professor Eirini Sarigiannidou, Vice President of International Affairs Grenoble INP, Dr. Florence Lefebvre-Joud, Research Director CEA-LITEN and Elisa Glangeaud, Director of International Outreach and Delegate General Directorate for International and Territorial Development, came to KIT on May 2 nd to May 4th.

As international strategic partners, UGA and KIT want to reinforce joint research especially in the fields of Artificial lntelligence, Energy, as well as Entrepreneurship. Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA) received last year the definitive Initiative of Excellence (IDEX) accreditation with seven other French universities.

During the second INTERNATIONAL DAYS of the International Affairs Business Unit, people from science, culture, and politics will gather at KIT to share their ideas and experiences around the topic of intercultural diversity with a broad audience and to network. Visitors can look forward to lectures, workshops, panel discussions, exhibition booths in KIT Ehrenhof, and much more.

Minister-President Kretschmann visits the university confederation Eucor - The European Campus in Strasbourg

At the EPICUR partner university AMU in Poznan, the international festival "Universitas Cantat" takes place for the 15th time. This year, the KIT chamber choir under the direction of music director Nikolaus Indlekofer with 26 singers will contribute to the musical exchange of different university choirs.

At the beginning of the summer semester, students and all interested people at KIT can inform themselves about Eucor. On April 27, 12-14, the Eucor team will answer questions over coffee and tea in front of the Mensa at Adenauerring.

The anniversary event organized by KIT and Arts et Métiers within the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union to celebrate 25 years of the KIT / Arts et Métiers double degree and 5 years of the French-German Institute for Industry of the Future took place in Metz, France, at the end of March. The French Ambassador to Germany Anne-Marie Descôtes praised the partnership as a successful model on a European level.

The German-Chilean Project IECO organizes a DAAD-Summer School on Eco-Industrial Development and circular economy in Valdivia, Chile. Universidad Austral de Chile will be the host of the event.

The Summer School is aimed at advanced students (Master and PhD) who are enrolled at one of the IECO partner universities (KIT, Universidad Austral de Chile, Universidad de Concepción, and Universidad de Chile).

Early Career Researchers from the EPICUR alliance and beyond are cordially invited to use the fifth EPICamp “Sustainable cities and regional transitions. Illuminating city-hinterland co-evolutionary relationships”, which will take place virtually on March 31st and April 1st 2022, as a platform to exchange views, connect, and network across disciplines, research areas, and country borders.

Registration to participate with an active contribution to the event is open until March 7th, 2022.

Early Career Researchers from the EPICUR alliance and beyond are cordially invited to use the fourth EPICamp “Hydrospehere: Challenges of preserving and using Water (Eco-)Systems  in the Anthropocene”, which will take place virtually on March 23rd and 24th 2022, as a platform to exchange views, connect, and network across disciplines, research areas, and country borders.

Registration to participate with an active contribution to the event is open until February 15th, 2022.
